Irene Fay Barndt 89 of Prime Hook Beach Delaware passed away November 14, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. With the help of Grandview Hospice she was able to spend her final months with family. Born in Milford Square she was the daughter of the late Hilda (Etter) and Charles Foulke.
She was the wife of the late William Barndt, Sr. with whom she shared 66 years of marriage before he passed away last year. She is survived by her son William Barndt, Jr. and daughter-in-law LouAnn, sister Shirley Weikert, grandchildren Corinne and Alyssa, and great-grandchildren Gianna and Luca.
Fay was known and loved for her cooking and baking skills. Every family gathering was made special with her chocolate cake and amazing array of pies. No one left her home hungry! She was generous with her time and in her younger years enjoyed caring for her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Fay loved to shop and during the Christmas season was often found hunting down that hard-to-find toy or item. She strived to make Christmas special for her family.
Fay retired from many years of working for Knauss's. Before that she worked in local mills, a local shoe store, and childcare in her home.
Upon retiring, she traveled the country with her husband Bill in their fifth wheel camper. They settled for the winter in Busnell, Florida but called Delaware their home the remaining months.
Fay was a member of Eastern Star for over fifty years. She was a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Applebachsville.
Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grandview Hospice , 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 and St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Applebachsville, 837 Old Bethlehem Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951.
