Horace Schaffer, Jr.

Horace J. Schaffer Jr., 73, life-long resident of Quakertown, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 16, 2021.  Born in 1947, he was the son of the late Horace Sr. and Ruth (Erney) Schaffer.  He was the husband of Ethel (Sherwood) Schaffer, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage.

Horace worked for many years as a construction worker.  In his spare time, Horace loved baking, gardening, and sitting out by a campfire.  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing.  But in particular, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Ethel, children, Marc Schaffer, Matthew Schaffer, and Todd Schaffer, stepchildren, Linda Asbury, Pete Pasternak, and Rachael Mory, siblings, Judy, Arlene, Danny, Dave, and Mary Schaffer, grandchildren, Devon, Nicholas, Gabrielle, Brittany, Matthew, Melanie, Valerie, Isabel, Hailey, Petey, Kayla, Amber, and Mason, great-grandchildren Montana, Remington, and Lukah.  He was predeceased by brother, Donald.

Funeral Services for Horace will be held Tuesday August 24, 2021, 2:00 PM at Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd, Quakertown, PA, 18951. A visitation will be held from 1-2, prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Coopersburg, PA.
