Herman S. Schlemmer, 71, of Quakertown, died Thursday Mar. 1 in his home. He was the husband of Mae L. (Benner) Schlemmer. They were married 50 years last June. He worked for ConRail and the former Reading Railroad of many years before retiring in 1992. Born in Shelly, he was a son of the late Herman & Theresa (Salfai) Schlemmer. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zion Hill. He served with the Army National Guard for a number of years. Surviving with his wife are sons Barry, wife Eileen, Coopersburg, & Ronald, Oxnard, CA; grandchildren Alexa & Austin; sisters, Helen Koch, Allentown & Viola Berger, Quakertown.
