Helen Mitman

Helen L. (Papciak) Mitman, 92 of Allentown, previously Quakertown, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Willard Mitman. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on October 20th. Born in Quakertown on November 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Zygmunt and Sophia (Wojsowski) Papciak. Helen graduated from Quakertown High School in 1941. She worked for David Crystal and Harvey Clothing in Quakertown until she retired in 1970. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Quakertown. Helen resided at the Luther Crest Retirement Community in Allentown where she was blessed with many friends. In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by her sons; David and his life partner Jo; Alan and his wife Martha; daughter Karen Derr and husband Walter, grandchildren Laurie, Michael, Kelsey, Kaylyn, Andy and Lynda, great-grandchildren CJ, Mycah, Brianna, Landon, Brian, Megan, Matt, Alyssa, Brayton, and Jillian. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on November 30, 2014 at Crest Hall, Luther Crest Retirement Community, 800 Hausman Rd. Allentown, PA 18104.
