Glen Smith

April 25, 1935 — March 14, 2019

Glen Douglas Smith, age 83, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown. Born April 25, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, he was the son of the late Douglas and Vivian (Clark) Smith, and the widower of the late Loraine (Doucette) Smith, to whom he was married 53 years on the date of her passing, January 9, 2011. Glen served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. His patriotism never waned, as he made sure to get out and vote in this past November's elections. In his professional life, Glen was a long-time parts manager at various businesses, last working at Tractor Supply in Quakertown for the past 15 years. Prior to that, he worked for Roma Industries and Lehigh Ag. He was known for his intense work ethic, but he always had time for family, and he never stopped praising Loraine as the love of his life. Glen is survived by: son Matthew R. Smith (fiancé Shelbi); granddaughter Ashley Rock (husband Bradley); great-grandchildren Gavin, Blake, and Eastan; nephew Peter Smith; and niece Lori Lynch. In addition to his wife and parents, Glen is preceded in death by brothers Dale and Sheldon Smith. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 18, at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA Upper Bucks Animal Care Center at 60 Reservoir Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951.
