Fritz H. Knop, 88, of Quakertown, died in his home Sat., Sept. 1. He was the husband of the late Lottie G. (Jordan) Knop. He worked as a machinist for over 10 yrs at the former Advanced Mechanization, Inc., Horsham before retiring in 1988. Previously, he worked for Molding Tech, Inc. Ivyland. Born in Berlin, Germany, he was a son of the late Friedrich and Anna (Knop) Knop. During World War II he served with the German Navy on a mine sweeper and had six vessels sunken from under him. He was one of only three survivors in the last sinking. He received a number of metals for his valor. In 1960, he left W. Berlin, Germany to come to the United States where he became a US citizen and always proudly wore a US flag pin on his suit. For years he was an avid cyclist and participated with a number of teams. He collected coins and stamps as a hobby. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown. Surviving are daughters, Marion Mitchell, husband Thomas, Quakertown and Monika Hagan, husband John, Perkasie, grandchildren Brigitte, Brian, Catherine, Jeanette, Sean; great- grandchildren Mitchell, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Katelyn, Anna. He was predeceased by infant daughter Brigitte. Funeral services will be held 8 Pm Tues, Sept. 4, in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W.
