Frederick Furness

Frederick D. Furness, 62 years young, of Quakertown, died Sun., July 19th at Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, after a long, brave battle with Carcinoid Cancer. He was the loving husband of Dorie (Wambold) Furness for 40 years . Born in Doylestown and raised in Upper Black Eddy, he was a son of the late Dale L. and Frances (Smola) Furness. Fred was a 1971 graduate of Palisades High School. Fred's family was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his home away from home in Susquehanna County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and BBQing. Fred was an avid woodturner. Fred's second family was North Star Construction Management of Allentown, where he was a construction superintendent since 1991. Surviving with his wife are his sons Jeffrey, Jonathan and his wife Sarah, and Travis all of Quakertown; grandchildren and the lights of his life, Jacob, Lucas and Matthew; siblings, Steven, Joan, Patricia and Kathleen. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan. Services will be held 10:30 AM, Fri., July 24th at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951. A calling will precede the service from 9:00-10:30 AM at the church.
