Ethel Pforter

Ethel M. Pforter, 90, of North Port, FL, formerly of Audubon, PA, died Wed., June 10 in Williamstown, NJ. Born in Herkimer, New York she was a daughter of the late Levi and Grace (Knout) LaVine. She was married to Warren J. Pforter for 55 years until his passing in 2001. The last 13 years of her life were spent with her companion, LeRoy Doyle, an angel sent to her from above. Ethel was an accounts payable clerk at Alan wood Steel Company, Conshohocken, PA. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and was very active in her retirement community in FL. She participated in potlucks, the Red Hat Society, and the Lazy River Boat Club, in which she served a two year term as Commodore. Above all, she devoted herself to her family and was the best mom a family could have. Surviving are sons, Rickard Pforter and wife Abigail, Ronald Pforter and wife Bonnie, and Randy Pforter and wife Patty; daughters Charlene Cavan and husband Barney, Jill Johnson, and Janice Carcione and husband Patrick; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David LaVine.. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sat. June 13 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Call at the funeral home 1 - 2 pm.
