Ethel Lewis, 95, Quakertown died Mon., July 2 in Belle Haven Nursing Home. She was widow of Leroy James Lewis. She worked as a dietary assistant at the former Quakertown Hospital for 14 years before retiring. Previously she worked for Emico at the former Trumbauersville location for 14 years and was a waitress at the former Trainers Restaurant for 20 years. Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Cora Belle (Gordon) Allem. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Quakertown and an active member of West End Fire Co Auxiliary for 55 years, serving as a past president. She was instrumental in obtaining the charter and became the first president of the local AARP chapter. She was a member of the former Recycled Seniors and enjoyed volunteering at the Quakertown Food Pantry, former Quakertown Community Hospital, and arranging bus trips, all for over 20 years.
