E. Scott Holahan

July 15, 1980 — June 8, 2020

Edward "Scott" Holahan, age 39, of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 8 at his residence in Pennsburg, PA. He was the beloved husband to Sarah (McDowell) Holahan, the love of his life, with whom he shared 7 years of marriage. Scott was the proud father of their daughter Makenzie, and was the son of Edward and the late Kathryn (Duffy) Holahan.

Originally from the Lawndale neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, Scott attended St. William School before moving to Quakertown, Bucks County, in 1990. He graduated from Quakertown Community Senior High School in 1999 and attended Kutztown University from 1999 - 2001. After 9/11, Scott joined the United States Navy and proudly served our country from 2001 - 2006. He remained active as a Naval Reservist through 2012. He was an extremely hard worker and a dedicated provider for his family. For the last 8 years, he worked in a variety of roles at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Phoenix.

Scott's thoughtful and generous spirit followed him through life, even though he would rather it had gone unnoticed. Scott consistently would go out of his way to help anyone, and so many who knew Scott said they did not know anyone with a bigger heart. With a personality larger than life, Scott's sense of humor commanded a room, won people over, and united neighbors. His loyalty to those he loved went unmatched. Scott shared his life with his dog Joe, truly man's best friend. He held the lifelong friendships with his "crew" close to his heart and simply loved spending time with his friends and family. Scott loved taking care of people, helping everyone, swimming at Pat and Harlie's, coaching children's soccer, playing volleyball, listening to The Beatles and OAR, spending a night at the VFW, comedy shows, the Eagles, telling jokes, the song "Ave Maria", resisting technology, and playing a good game of rummy. Growing up, Scott loved spending time at his grandparents' home in Ocean City, New Jersey. He started a new legacy when he and Sarah (and of course, Joe) spent their summers in their beach house on the Chesapeake Bay, a place he loved to share with friends and family.

Scott was the most incredible "big brother" and is survived by siblings: sister Katie Zackon and her husband Michael, brother John Holahan and his girlfriend Nicole, and sister Elizabeth Seibert and her husband Brian. The most thoughtful and silly "Uncle Scott" is also survived by his six nephews and two nieces.
