Emily Stevenson Franczak

Emily Stevenson Franczak, 95, of Quakertown, PA, passed away on March 8, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving daughters. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1930, Emily was the daughter of the late James Sanders and the late Mary Jane (Fries) Sanders. She is predeceased by her first husband, Robert Herbert Stevenson, and her second husband, William Franczak.

Emily attended Germantown High School in Philadelphia and married her first love, Bob, who she met when she was a teenager at a church scavenger hunt.

Although Emily worked various office positions after raising her three children, her passion and purpose in life was being a homemaker. She took the job very seriously, keeping a beautiful inviting home, nothing ever out of place, and always having a meal on the table for her family.

When her children were younger, she was an active member of the Philadelphia Home & School Association, and a Cub Scout Leader. Bob and Emily eventually left Philadelphia and moved to the suburbs in Warminster, Pennsylvania. She took pride in her home, hosting many holidays, BBQs, and family get-togethers. She was happiest when spending time with her family; and especially enjoyed hosting her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews every year on a vacation down the shore – a time that was cherished by all who loved her and a time where many special memories were created.

After her first husband, Bob, passed away, Emily joined the To Live Again (TLA) social organization, where she met her second husband William (Bill) Franczak. Bill and “Emmy” as Bill lovingly referred to her enjoyed many happy years together. They moved to the “country” in New Tripoli and spent their days taking long drives, visiting with friends, driving to Hawk Mountain and bird watching.

After Bill’s passing, Emily moved to Quakertown to live with her daughter Deborah. Together they spent time in Wildwood every September and took a cruise every January.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah Stevenson and Susan Wozniak Bishop (Richard Bishop), her son Robert Stevenson, and her cousins Edna and Fred DeFrancesco, who she shared a special relationship with. Emily will be dearly missed by all her family and grandchildren, including Robbie, Karyn, Amanda, Brian, Jennifer, and niece Christina. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Tessa, Harper, Madison, Landon, Tyler, Phisher, Michayla, Michael, Allison and Stella, and Great Aunt to Joey, Freddie, and Louis. In addition to her parents and husbands, Emily is also predeceased by her son-in-law William “Bill” Wozniak, stepson Michael “Micky” Franczak and her beloved Golden Retriever, Willow.

The burial will take place on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Malvern, PA 19355, beginning at 1pm.
