Ella May Davis Barber, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, born December 1, 1931, In Brattleboro, Vermont, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2021, at the young age of 89. She is the first born daughter of the late Elsie Irene Reome and Morton Albert Davis, Sr. of Spofford, New Hampshire. She played basketball and graduated in 1949 from Brattleboro High School. She was a devoted military wife for 62 years; and a loving mother and grandmother right up until she died. She is survived by her three children, Philip Morton Barber and his wife Lee Ann Barber of Canton Mississippi, Stephen Marshall Barber of Texas, and Luanne Marie LaRose Salsbury and her husband Leslie Wayne Salsbury of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Sister Shirley Anne Davis of Rutland, Vermont and Betty Parent of Spofford, New Hampshire; three sisters in-law: June Davis of West Wardsboro, Vermont, Mary Davis, of Spofford, New Hampshire; and Cheryl Davis of Roanoke, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was schooled in bookkeeping and stenography, where she enjoyed being a stenographer at Hoffman's Insurance Agency in Brattleboro, Vermont and later she held bookkeeping positions at the Greenfield Tap and Die and Sigda's Flower shop, both located in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She also enjoyed designing floral arrangements for Sigda's. She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included cake decorating; ceramics; quilting; sewing; collecting stamps; she loved real estate; decoupage; macrame; knitting; crocheting; ballroom dancing; refinishing pianos and furniture; caning chairs; upholstery; swimming; reading; gardening and landscaping; she loved to cook and bake and she collected recipes; she enjoyed canning; she loved card games and rarely lost; she volunteered in church, served meals, attended church sings and was in the choir; she cooked and delivered meals to members of the community; she collected Christmas angels; she was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary, post 242, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania; she enjoyed playing the piano; she was an avid civil war reenactor where she cooked and prepared meals over an open fire in the field; she loved to travel and in the recent years traveled to Mount Rushmore; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Newport; Boston; Manhattan; Lake Placid; Hyde Park; Saratoga; Greenwich, CT, Cedar Creek, VA; Gettysburg; Ocean City, New Jersey; and Vicksburg, MS. She also enjoyed antiquing; walking; and train travel. She read her bible every day. She adored and collected dishes; and she loved flowers. She loved her family and friends, and she loved the Lord most of all. She will be dearly missed, until we see her again.
