Elizabeth A. "Betty" Tarantino, 90, of Quakertown, died Tuesday, December 4, at LifeQuest Nursing Center, in Quakertown. Born on September 5, 1928, in Bedminster Twp, she was a daughter of the late Edgar B. & Katie (Hessler) Stump, and the beloved wife of the late John A. Tarantino. Betty was a long time sewing machine operator at John Renninger Clothing Factory in Quakertown, and retired as a housekeeper for LifeQuest Nursing Center in 1995. Later, she was an avid birdwatcher, especially her favorite cardinals, and loved listening to church hymns and doing word search puzzles. She is survived by: daughters Lisa Anne Dixon (husband Charles) of Kempton, and Linda S. Freed (husband Michael) of Red Hill; son Anthony A. Tarantino (wife Karen) of Tafton; grandchildren Keith, Kelly, Rusty and Rick; as well as 8 beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in passing by: brothers Durrell and Elbert Stump; and sister Elsie Bartholomew. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 10, at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd, Quakertown. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spinnerstown.
