Edwin Elliot Cummings, age 76, died Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at his home in Quakertown, PA. Born February 19, 1943, in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of the late Elliot S. and Grace E. (McAllister) Cummings. Edwin graduated from Hebron Academy, Hebron, ME and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, Class of 1967, and was a member of the TKE fraternity. Edwin then entered the family business, C. B. Cummings, & Sons. He advanced to the position of President before he retired. C. B. Cummings & Sons was in the business of producing high- quality wooden dowels, turnings, and specialty products, for almost a century and a half in Norway, ME. He was the President of the Western Maine Industrial Management Club in 1971 and held directorships in the Maine Hardwood Association. He was affiliated with manufacturing and engineering associations throughout Maine and nationally. Edwin supported the communities in which he lived and worked through many organizations. He was a member of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, twice Chairman of the Oxford Hills YMCA, President of the Lakes Association of Norway, ME, Sec./Treas of Cinnamon Camp Club and was elected as a trustee to the Oxford Water District in 1972 and was a chairman from 1974 until he moved to Pennsylvania. Edwin was a member and past Deacon of the Second Congregational Church in Norway. Edwin was initiated into Masonry February 26, 1966. He was a member of many fraternal organizations, having served in positions from Secretary to President or from Initiate to Sovereign Grand Master. To name a few of these organizations and his roles within; Edwin served as a Sovereign Grand Master of the Allied Masonic Degrees of the United States. He was a past Grandmaster of the Oxford Lodge #18, past District Deputy Grand Master of Lodge #16, member and past Sovereign Master of Akhiwiyah Council #185. He was a member of the Maine College Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederiatis; Masonic Order of Scarlet Cord; Royal Order of Scotland; Knights Mason of New Hampshire; and was President of the Maine Council, Order of High Priesthood. He continued his Masonic interests when he moved to Pennsylvania, where he became a member of the North Penn High Twelve, of which he became President; St. Thomas of Acon Jordan Chapel #15 in Allentown; and the Oppartives in PA Bryn Atayn Quary #5, where he earned the 5th degree. Edwin is survived by his children Todd Cummings (wife Lisa), Jeffrey Cummings (wife Judie), Andrew Cummings (significant other Jennifer Mergele), Jennifer Cummings, Adam Cummings (significant other Andrew Camara), Lindsay Cummings (wife Jenn O'Neill), sisters Margaret Cummings and Katherine Cummings, and grandchildren Alex, Ian, and Ari.
