Edwin Bender

Edwin C. Bender, 70, of Coopersburg, previously of Phila. died Monday, Aug. 29 at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn (Stevens) Bender and the late Dorothy May (Orner) Bender. He & Carolyn celebrated 20 years of marriage last November. Born in Philadelpha, he was a son of Esther (Carson) Bender Dent of Bensalem and the late Allen Bender. He was a machinist at Stokes Vaccum Inc., Philadelphia for 33 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Frankford Lodge F. & A.M. Surviving with wife, son Edwin C. Jr., wife Frances of Perkasie; daughters, Linda Walfish, husband Allen of Mooresville; Sherry Rodriguez, husband Edwin of Coopersburg; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; step-son, Christopher Hazley, step-daughter, Carolyn Hazley both of Coopersburg; brothers, Robert & James Bender, Alexander Dent all of Phila.; sister, Ruth DeKoyer of Bensalem. He was predeceased by son Karl Bender, step-son, Edward Hazley, brother, Allen Bender. Memorial service will be held Sat, Sept. 3, 1 PM at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W.
