Edward W. Fawcett, a resident of LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown, died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, at the age of 91. Formerly of Sellersville, he was the husband of Bertha Fawcett who passed away Dec. 7. They had been married 53 years in July. He was born in Orange, NJ to the late Willa and Florence (Crook) Fawcett. He attended Quakertown High School and served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as an airplane and engine mechanic. He achieved the rank of Sargeant. He was employed for many years at the U.S. Gauge of Sellersville. His great passion was model railroading and train photography. He spent many hours assembling and painting model railroad cars and had a large train layout. He enjoyed "gadgets" and mechanical and electronic things and also was an avid magnet collector. For the last several years until his stroke in September he had been the devoted caretaker of his wife. He is survived by his son Robert and daughter-in-law, Linda of Quakertown. He was predeceased by his first wife Elinar (Landis) Fawcett in 1953, brother Joseph and sisters, Florence Jett and Lucille Meckling. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11:00 am at the First Church of the Brethren, Quakertown. Interment: Quakertown Union Cemetery. Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N.
