Dr. William Rutherford Firth Jr., age 71, of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday March 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Deborah (Brooks) Firth, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late William Firth Sr. and the late Rose (Smith) Firth. William graduated from Temple University in 1970 and he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Temple University in 1974. He was the owner and lead surgeon in private practice, at Comprehensive Dentisty, in Wayne, PA. He served our country as a Captain in the Air Force from 1974-1981. In addition to his wife Deborah, he is survived by his son, William R. Firth III, his daughter Melanie R. Firth; his two brothers, Edwin G. Firth, and Robert J. Firth, and his aunt, Edna Smith Ullman. He also has been lovingly supported by extended family, Ann and Giovanni Panno, and John T. Wambold, who have graciously shared their 5 children, Anthony, Giovanna, Michael, Sedona and Zoey, in his life. He is blessed by his association with The Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, PA. He celebrated his heritage with memberships in The Sons of the Revolution, Mayflower Society, St. George Society, Society of the war of 1812, and the St. Nicholas Society of the City of New York. He was also a member of the British Officers Club of Philadelphia. His life was filled with friendships from his memberships in The Union League of Philadelphia, Radnor Hunt Club, and the Philadelphia Cricket Club. You are invited to visit with William's family and friends from 10-11AM Wednesday March 11, 2020 at Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte St, Bethlehem, PA 18015. His memorial service will follow at 11AM. Interment will be held privately. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Church at the aforementioned address.
