Douglas A. Thorsen, 87, of Quakertown, previously of Minnesota, died on Sunday, August, 5 at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Loretta M. (Bealer) Thorsen for 65 years. Born in Minnesota, he was a son of the late Thomas & Mary (Schmitt) Thorsen. Doug served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his service he worked as a Supervisor/Foreman for Ametek, Sellersville for 42 years & retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Spinnerstown, Keystone Elk Country Alliance, Mumbauersville Gun Club, Sellersville Moose, Quakertown Legion Post 242 & Milford Township, Lions. Doug loved to waterski, wake board & hunt. Surviving with his wife is his grandson: Cody Thorsen and sister: Helen Anderson, MN. He is predeceased by their daughter: Andrea Thorsen and 1 brother & sister. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August, 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1565 Sleepy Hollow Road, Spinnerstown, PA 18968 with a viewing beginning at 10 am. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Spinnerstown. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the church, please address to the Stained Glass Window Fund.
