Dorothy D. Steeley, 95, of Quakertown, died Tues., Mar. 9 in Phoebe-Richland Health Care Ctr, Richlandtown. She was the widow of Dr. Wayne L. Steeley. Born in Phila, she was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Christina (Binder) Deiss. She graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1932 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Hygiene, class of 1934. She worked for a dentist in Phila prior to marriage and then became a woman dedicated to her husband & home. She enjoyed raising her children and lived in Japan while her husband was stationed there with the US Army. Upon her return to the states, she enjoyed sharing in public forums her knowledge of the Japanese culture & customs. She and her husband enjoyed world travel and for many years lived in Key West, FL in the winter. Dorothy always made time for family, and delighted in time spent with her grandchildren & great- grandchildren. She was an accomplished needlework crafter, including works of her own original design. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Quakertown where she had served as church treasurer and on church council. She was a former member of the Quakertown Women's Club. Surviving are her son, Philip, wife Jane, Quakertown, daughters, Peg Loubris, husband Paul, Revere; Jane VanHorn, husband James, Center Valley; grandchildren, Kristine, Mark, Andrew, Amy, and Timothy; great-grandchildren Emily, Lucas, Wyatt, & Cassidy. She was predeceased by granddaughters Karen Loubris Montellano & Patricia Ann Loubris and brother, Edward F. Deiss. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday in the First United Church of Christ, Quakertown. Interment Quakertown Union Cemetery. Call at church 10 - 11 AM Saturday. Memorial contributions to the Memorial Fund, First UCC, 151 S. 4th St., Quakertown, 18951. The Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N.
