Dorothy Joy Diehl, 81, of Pennsburg, formerly of Quakertown died Sat. Aug. 6 in Grand View Hospital. She was the loving wife of Donald A. Diehl. The couple would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17. Born in W. Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Edward & Dorothy (Shiner) Dunning. Joy worked for Penn Foundation, Sellersville for many years before retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church and the Perkiomenville chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving with her husband are sons David, wife Diane of Quakertown and Kevin, wife Sharon of Emmaus; daughters Sally Schulberger, wife of Scott of Pennsburg, Susan of Pennsburg, Deborah of Brick, NJ, Karen of Bethlehem, and Joanne Barrett, husband John of Lehighton; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters Judith Yerger, husband Paul of Willingboro, NJ, Dawn Palmquist, husband James of Macungie, and Donna of Telford. She was predeceased by a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held 11 am Fri. Aug 12 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, with a calling period from 9:30 - 11 am. Private interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham.
