Donald Knauss

Donald T. Knauss, 90, of Quakertown, died Wed., Mar. 1, 2017 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth (Willauer) Knauss. Born in Quakertown, he was the only child of the late William E. and Florence (Tice) Knauss. Donald received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova in 1946, on the same day he got married and entered into military service with the US Navy. He was third generation president of the family business, E.W. Knauss & Son, Inc., in Quakertown for 58 years, retiring in 2004. Donald was a past president of Quakertown Kiwanis, and served on the Board of Directors at Quakertown National Bank for 47 years. His memberships include Peace Lutheran Church, Perkasie; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1622, American Legion Post 242, and Free Masons Supreme Forest of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America; all of which he was either a life member or current member for over 50 years. Surviving is his daughter, Susan Minarik, husband Perry, Quakertown; grandchildren: Troy (Kimberly), Jill (Scott), Aimee (Ronald) and Loree (Thomas); and great-grandchildren: Alexa, Joe, Tyler, Drew, Joey, Kristin and Jimmy. He was preceded in death by a son, E. William Knauss and daughter-in-law, Barbara Knauss. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Fri., March 3, 2017 in Peace Lutheran Church, 100 Old Bethlehem Rd., Perkasie, PA 18944. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interment in Quakertown Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
