Dr. Donald M. Feigley Sr., 98, of Concord, NH, formerly of Quakertown, PA, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Dr. Harvey P. and Gladys (Johnson) Feigley. He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Neidig) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. He resided at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord for the last 14 years after enjoying retirement at Buck Hill Falls, PA.
After graduating from Quakertown High School in 1941, Donald attended Lehigh University and graduated with honors. In 1948 he graduated from Jefferson Medical College, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He subsequently entered the General Practice of Medicine in Quakertown from 1950 to 1990. During 1951 to 1953, he served as a Captain and Flight Surgeon in U.S. Air Force in Korea. Upon returning to civilian life, Donald resumed his private medical practice and maintained membership in the American Medical Association throughout his career and retirement.
Donald had the utmost concern for the health and wellbeing of his patients, and particularly enjoyed delivering babies. Also, he was dedicated to community service. He was Past President of the Quakertown Medical staff, served as physician to the Quakertown Children's Home, was a member of the Rotary Club of Quakertown, and a member of the Masonic Lodge (#512) of Quakertown for over 60 years. He was a Life Member of both The Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion. Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Quakertown.
Donald enjoyed a variety of recreational activities but prime among them was golf. Over the years he held memberships at Brookside and Saucon Valley Country Clubs and Buck Hill Falls Golf Club in Pennsylvania, and played frequently at Concord's Beaver Meadow Golf Course. He was gold medalist in the Granite State Senior Games in golf (85-plus age group) in 2009 and 2010. He enjoyed playing cards, particularly pinochle. He had a passion for eating fresh seafood and always enjoyed a plate of oysters or clams, a pint of Guinness, and a good cigar.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald Jr., and wife Erica of East Greenville, Margaret Stumb and husband Charles of Bow, NH, Janice Interlandi and husband Michael of South Hero, VT, Peter and wife Rachel of Seeley Lake, MT; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Harvey Jr. and William.
