Dolores Marie O’Donnell (“Dolly”), 78, of Coopersburg, died peacefully at home Sunday October 10, 2021 after a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late Danny O’Donnell (“Master of the Banjo”) of 49 years, and the loving mother of the late Danny O’Donnell II (“Mr. O’Donnell”) of Durham Nockamixon Elementary School. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Deutsch) Rutz, and sister of Bernice (Rutz) Toigo, Thomas Rutz, and Judith (Rutz) O’Donnell. Dolly was a 1960 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, and was a meticulous clerical worker in the garment industry for over 35 years (Modern Slack Creations, Crystal Brands, Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, Kellwood Company) while raising her children. Dolly was a practicing Catholic and member of St. Isidore’s Church for over 50 years. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org.
Survivors: With her siblings, her children: Paul O’Donnell, wife Jeanine, West Chester; Erin Lee, husband Bruce, Yardley; and grandchildren: Ryan, Kade, Kyra, Ella O’Donnell; Sean and Owen Lee.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, October 15 in St. Isidore’s Catholic Church, 2545 West Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. Interment following the mass in Highland Park Cemetery, Allentown. Viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 14 in Naugle Funeral Home, 135 West Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, and Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
