Curtis C. Lemuell, 61, of Quakertown died Friday in Chestnut Hill Hospital, Phila. He was the husband of Rosemarie A. "Rea" (Iovine) Lemuell. They were married 34 years in April. He was a tool & die maker working for Levr Air, Doylestown before retiring. Born in Phila, he was a son of the late Curtis H. and Mary (Creger) Lemuell. He was a 1968 graduate of Frankford High School and he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the US Navy on the USS Wasp until its decommissioning in 1972. After playing softball in the service, he played with the Amateur Softball Assoc for 7 years. He then began umpiring and was the assigner/president of his own umpire assoc for 15 years. He served as a volunteer with the Amateur Softball Assoc and served as a District Commissioner for the State of PA, 1980-2000. Twelve of those years, he was Commissioner of the Year. Curt's duties included registering teams and umpires, as well as promoting the ASA in PA and the game of softball in general. During the summer months he set-up and ran District, Regional, National, and fund raising tournaments. He also served on the Regional & National councils working on different committees. In 1999, he was honored through induction into the Amateur Softball of PA-Hall of Fame. After completing his duties as commissioner, he taught softball in the Quakertown Community School District until 2004. Curt was an avid fan of local football & baseball teams, an avid golfer, avid scuba diver, and spent summer weekends with his family at the beach in Sea Isle City. As member of Quakertown Masonic Lodge #512, F.&A.M., he served as lodge secretary for the past 10 yrs and secretary of the Lehigh Valley Masonic Day Lodge the past 2 yrs. Being married to a wonderful wife and having the children she gave him were the most important part of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons. Nicholas C., his significant other, Rachel Beresford, Christopher F., his fiancée, Tammy Beach, and daughter Elizabeth A. Lemuell, her significant other Anthony Lightbourne, and her son, Curt's grandson, Derek Lemuell. He is also survived by a brother Thomas, wife Sue, Sisters-in-law, Tina & Liz Iovine, & brother-in-law Fred Iovine, wife Jean, & their daughter, Nicole.
