Charles Martin, 90, of Souderton, previously of Quakertown died Sun, Dec. 16, 2012 at Souderton Mennonite Home. He was the husband of Verna (Long) Keeler-Martin. He worked as a carpenter for Lewis Brothers Contractors, and the former Jake Stoneback Builder, Quakertown for many years prior to retiring in 1986 Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Elsie (George) Martin. He was a 1940 graduate of Quakertown High School. He served with the US Army during World War II. He was a member of East Swamp Mennonite Church, Quakertown Surviving with wife, children: Larry, Ocean City, NJ, William, wife Renee, Allentown, Linda Thompson, husband George, Seattle, WA, Ellen Burkhardt, husband David, Barto, and Jane Fluck husband Ray, Blossom, TX; brothers, Wilmer Jr., and Kenneth, both Quakertown; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; in addition in his extended family are step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son Fred. Services will be held at 11 AM Fri, Dec. 21 in East Swamp Mennonite Church, 2405 East Swamp Road, Quakertown. Interment East Swamp Cemetery. Call: 6-8 PM Thurs., Dec. 20 in Souderton Mennonite Home, 207 West Summit Street Souderton, and 10-11 AM Fri at the Church.
