Caroline Speer

Caroline R. Speer, 84, of Allentown, PA died December 31, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospice 17th & Chew. She was the wife of the late William J. "Bill" Speer who passed away in 1984. Born March 14, 1928 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Naomi (Reber) Fritz. Carline worked as a sales clerk for C. Leslie Smith, Allentown, for more than 20 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allentown where she was very active as a communion assistant, Social Ministry Committee, and the Thanksgiving Meal Program. She was an advocate for the poor. Surviving Caroline are her children; Shelley A. Daniels wife of Scott, Quakertown and John W. Speer husband of Kim, Midlothian, VA, sisters; Barbara Tschopp husband Woody of CT and Eleanor Weidner husband Miles of OH, Grandchildren; Bradley, Scott, Mark Ayres, Mya Durham, and Katelyn Speer, Great Grandchildren; Jackson and Piper. She was pre-deceased by brother Paul Fritz, Jr. Services will be held Friday January 25 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 36 South 8th Street, Allentown at 11:00 AM. A calling hour will be from 10 Until 11 in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allentown.
