Burton L. Dimmig, 94 of Quakertown, died Saturday August 21, in Phoebe Richland Home. He was the husband of the late Esther Ruth (Ream) Dimmig. Born in Quakertown, Burton was the son of the late Olin and Dorothy (Young) Dimmig. He was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church, Quakertown, and a former member, deacon, Sunday School teacher and song leader in the First Church of the Brethren, Quakertown. He also belonged to the Gideons for more than 60 years. Burton and his father began the family business, Dimmig Electric in 1937 in Quakertown, in which Burton continued to work until 2006. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Esther, and cared for her at home for many years through her battle with Alzheimers. One of Burton's greatest joys was singing. He was a soloist at his church, and found great satisfaction in ministering his faith to others in that way. His life reflected his deep Christian faith and love of his family. As the patriarch of the Dimmig family, he will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He was a loving father to his sons David of Quakertown, Gary and wife Alice of East Greenville, and to his daughters Karen Dimmig of Allentown, and Judi Hill and her husband John of Allentown.
