Betty Wimmer

Betty Mae (Heist) Wimmer, age 92, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Independence Court, Quakertown. Born February 20, 1928 in Pennsburg, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Florence (Albitz) Heist, and the widow of the late Allen A. Wimmer, Jr. (Jim), to whom she was married 43 years at the time of his passing. Betty and Jim were longtime members of St. John's Lutheran Church, Richlandtown. She served as treasurer of the church for many years. Betty retired from her job as office manager of J. G. Furniture, Quakertown in February, 1990. Betty enjoyed knitting, embroidery, and quilting, making many gifts for loved ones throughout the years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Betty is survived by: daughters Rebecca Zablocki (husband Thomas) and Donna Shay (husband Scott); grandchildren Rebecca Williams (husband Jason), Scott Matthew Shay, Amanda Slotter (husband Tony), Rachel Zablocki, Stefan Zablocki (wife Lynn), and Jenna Sass (husband Jeff); and great-grandchildren Noah, John, and Anneliese Williams; Lake and Hank Slotter; and Ella and Everly Sass. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Betty J. Wimmer and many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Doris Brinkman. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service - 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, with the Reverend Scott L. Shay officiating. Calling hours will start at 10:00 AM. Current Covid-19 health regulations will be observed. Burial will follow at Richlandtown Union Cemetery.
