Betty J. Gilman, age 92, of Quakertown PA (formerly of Hatfield PA), passed away on August 5, 2024 at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown, PA.

Betty was born April 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Hendricks) Freese of Lansdale PA. Betty was the wife of Theodore "Ted" C. Gilman, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage before his passing in 1997.

Betty is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul H. Peterman (1959), and also her brothers Henry Freese (Esther), Earl "Bob" Freese, Sr. (Rose), and Lloyd Freese.

Betty worked and retired from Aiden Raytor, Montgomeryville PA. She enjoyed doing crafts, collecting angels, lighthouses, and anything squirrels. She played shuffle for Eagles Club and Cannoneers, Lansdale, where she was captain of her team. She volunteered for North Penn Volunteer Fire Company, North Wales for many years serving with their Ladies' Auxiliary holding various positions. She mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was noted as always being the first to send a birthday or holiday card to her loved ones each year. She had a love for animals and enjoyed visiting the zoo during vacations in Cape May, NJ, as well as the Cape May Light House and Sunset Beach.

Betty is survived and will be dearly missed by her Children and loved ones: Son, David K. Peterman of East Greenville, Daughter, Rita Riley (Patrick) of Quakertown, Son, Timothy Peterman (Patti) of Telford, and Daughter, Darcy Walter (Dave) of Quakertown. Her nine Grandchildren, David J. Peterman (Angie), Olivia Hatley (Chris), Shana Hauber (Nick), Amelia Marquart (Joey), Taryn Kelly (Justyn), Kelley Alexander, Vaughn Peterman, Gregory Peterman (Kayla) and Tynan Walter. Her six Great Grandchildren, Riley Marquart, Kendra Peterman, Evania Hatley, Kaylen Hushen, Silas Hatley, and Justyn Patrick Kelly "LJ". She is also survived by her two Sister-in-laws, Helen Freese of Drexel Hill, PA and Agnes Pettinicchi of Perkasie, PA, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
