Betty Lee Boorse, 92, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Phoebe Richland on Friday July 1, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William Moyer Boorse, and her son-in-law, Charles O'Dell.

Born in Dayton, Ohio on August 25th, 1929, to Glee and Frieda (Bundenthal) Thompson, she graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and attended Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio where she met her husband, William. They married in 1949 and settled in Bill's hometown of Quakertown.

She was a loving and devoted mother of three children: Betty Ann O'Dell of Lima, OH, Barbara Bingham (Mark), of Hanover, PA and William R. Boorse (Elena) of Nazareth, PA and a doting grandmother of seven grandchildren--Russell Bowerman, Frieda Bowerman, Elisabeth Bingham Patrick, Thomas Bingham, Paul Bingham, John Bingham, and Julia Boorse. Betty was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Frederick, and brothers Bill Thompson and Dick Thompson.

Betty was an active member of United Mennonite Church volunteering in the church nursery, teaching Sunday School, and organizing the annual cookie sale. She was a member of the Quakertown Hospital Auxiliary helping to run the annual Hospital Lawn Fete. Betty was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.

Betty was employed by Sines 5 & 10 and worked for Corner House/Apparel Affiliates in the 1970's.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2022, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. The burial will be held immediately after at Flatland Church in Quakertown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flatland Church, 180 W. Thatcher Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
