Bernard J. Skillens, 72, of Sellersville, died Sunday, Jan. 27 in Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Sheila (Swanner) Skillens and the late Sara (Agliata) Skillens. Born in Plains, Luzerne Co., he was a son of the late Bernard and Johanna (Wachilla) Skillens. Bernie served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for the federal government for over 35 years in Human Resources at the former Naval Research Center, Warminster. Surviving with his wife are his sons Bernard, Jeffrey, wife Lisa; step-daughter Nicole Jerrom, husband Kyle; ten grandchildren; brother Joseph, wife Jackie; and sister Maryann Gavin, husband Gene. A memorial sharing service will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 10 AM in the Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
