Arthur Irwin Gerhart Jr.

Arthur Irwin Gerhart Jr., 87, of Quakertown, PA, passed away on September 13th, 2023. Born in Quakertown, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur Gerhart Sr. and the late Helen Gerhart (Souder). 

Arthur attended Quakertown High School and just prior to graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served in Okinawa, Japan, and the Philippines. After the Marines, Arthur worked for Crouthamel's Potato Chips in Quakertown in maintenance, drove tractor trailer, and did general contracting. In his free time, Arthur enjoyed attending worship services at Faith Wesleyan Church in Orefield, gardening and growing tomatoes, baking cookies and cakes, and making his famous eggplant pizza dish. Above all, Arthur loved spending time with his family and friends. 

Arthur will be dearly missed by his children, Denise Ryan, Deanna Steich, David Gerhart Sr., and Maryann Gerhart (John Marcoux); his grandchildren, Megan, Colleen, Katie, Dennis Jr., David Jr., Gregory, Casey, and Devon; his great-grandchildren, Remy, Avery, Calliope, and Artemis; and his siblings, Lorraine Miller, Bruce Gerhart, Sr., Anne Wenger,
Betty Benner, Ralph Gerhart, Sr., and Linda Clancey. Arthur is predeceased by his wife, Faith Gerhart (Ewer), together they shared over 55 years of marriage and his son, George Gerhart. 

All are welcome to join Arthur’s family on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, for a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00AM located at Faith Wesleyan Church, 3356 Route 309, Orefield, PA, 18069.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arthur’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
