Arlington L. Lewis, 89, of Quakertown, died Sunday, Aug. 28 at home. He was the husband of Norma (Detweiler) Lewis. They were married 68 years last November. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Leidy S. and Ida (Cressman) Lewis. He graduated from Quakertown High School in 1940 as Class President. He served with the US Navy during World War II in Hawaii. Arlington worked as a trim sorting foreman at the former American Olean Tile Co., Quakertown for 36 years before retiring in 1986. He was an active member and former Sunday School teacher at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Quakertown. He was an active member and past officer of the Grundsow Lodge #4; Past Master of F & A.M. #512, Quakertown ; Quakertown Golden Age Club; North Penn Stamp Club and the Pennridge Quakertown Area Sports Hall of Fame. Surviving with wife, daughters, Marianne Yeakel, husband Ken; Ellen Miron, husband Nicholas all of Quakertown; grandchildren, Janet Ebner (John), Jill Remick (Ken), Alex Miron, Eric Miron; great-grandchildren, Amanda & Matthew Remick, Grayson & Rylan Ebner; brother, Leon of Quakertown.
