Andrew Francis "Andy" Moran, 88, of Quakertown passed away on March 21, 2024. He was born in Manhattan, NY on December 16, 1935 to the late Andrew and Lillian (McNulty) Moran. Andrew was the devoted life partner to Sharon Bobincheck for 45 1/2 years.
In high school, Andy had an interest in the Future Farmers of America and participated in the agricultural program for half the school year. In the summers he lived and worked on the Moore's farm in Schenevus, NY.
He was a veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Navy, Seabees from 1954 until 1962.
Andy was a bodyguard and chauffeur for 15 years in NY, CT and MA. Andy went by the name of Mark Phillips and was employed by many politicians, the wealthy, actors and actresses during that time. Among them are Mrs. Schumway (CT), Glenn Campbell (NY), Ed McMahon (NY), Elisha Walker (NY), Bob Katz (CT), Loretta Young (NY), Mrs. Imelda Marcos of the Philippines (NY), Carl Albert (NY), Warner Leroy's wife (NY), Tom J. Deegan (NY), Hazel Scott (CT), Vincent Price (NY), David Susskind (NY), Van Cliburn, Adam Clayton Powell, and many others.
While living in CT he owned a boat and enjoyed taking his friends out on the boat and dining at restaurants with a dock.
In CT he managed an Ace Hardware store for a couple years. He also owned and operated a mobile food service truck called 'Bon Appetite' for about a year.
He managed and was part owner of a jazz nightclub in Norwalk, CT called 'The Owl & The Pussycat', opening with Hazel Scott.
Andy carried himself with dignity and had such a powerful commanding presence that everyone knew when he walked into a room.
Bimini, Bahamas was his favorite vacation destination where he enjoyed big game fishing and loved staying in Ernest Hemingway's room at the Compleat Angler.
Andy and Sharon met when he was working as a salesman at a Going Out Of Business furniture sales event in Montgomeryville. He worked GOB's up and down the east coast.
Super-charged by cut throat GOB sales, Andy easily secured a sales position with Furniture Unlimited in Quakertown. Handling four and five customers at a time, he quickly became the #1 salesman with an impressive following of loyal customers for many years.
Andy worked at Lowe's in Quakertown for many years in the hardware department and knew where everything was in the store.
Andy always took a personal interest in other peoples' lives, was very thoughtful and made friends easily. He had a warm smile, huge personality and a big heart. He could make anyone laugh with his jokes and feel welcome and comfortable instantly. He loved hosting Thanksgiving for the family and enjoyed entertaining friends, neighbors and family at parties and picnics. He really loved working around the house and doing yard work, especially gathering and chopping wood.
Andrew is survived by his life partner Sharon; and many other loving family and friends. Andy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him and all those whose lives he touched. He enjoyed a life well-lived and made his world a better place. "OO-fah!"

All are invited on Friday, October 4 to Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951 to a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm and a memorial service at 8:00pm.
