Con profundo pesar, la familia de Doña Amalia Ramos (87 años), originaria de Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, comunica su partida el 23 de enero de 2025, en su hogar en Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Nacida el 16 de agosto de 1937, fue hija de los recordados Pedro Ramos y Tomasa Rodríguez, quienes partieron antes que ella. Amalia deja un legado de amor en su familia, sobreviviendo a través de sus queridos hijos: Frank (Miriam) González, Ana (Martín) Murillo, Nitza (Julio) González y Joselito (Yolanda) González. Su hogar se ilumina con la presencia de diez nietos y diecisiete bisnietos, además de numerosos amigos y familiares.

Doña Amalia era una mujer de pocas palabras, pero su calidez y sentido del humor iluminaban la vida de quienes la rodeaban. Su dedicación al ministerio hispano de la Iglesia de San Isidoro en Quakertown fue un reflejo de su espíritu generoso y su deseo de servir a la comunidad. Antes de establecerse en Pennsylvania, Amalia disfrutó de una temporada en Massachusetts, donde compartía momentos especiales de compras y diversión en casinos con su mejor amiga del trabajo. Su amor por la música, especialmente la bachata, llenaba su corazón y su hogar de alegría. Amalia será recordada por su simplicidad, su amor por la vida y su habilidad para hacer sentir a todos bienvenidos. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 12:00 a 1:00 p. m., seguido de una misa conmemorativa a la 1:00 p. m. With deep sorrow, the family of Doña Amalia Ramos (87 years old), originally from Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, announces her passing on January 23, 2025, at her home in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Born on August 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Ramos and Tomasa Rodríguez, who preceded her in death. Amalia leaves behind a legacy of love in her family, surviving through her beloved children: Frank (Miriam) González, Ana (Martín) Murillo, Nitza (Julio) González, and Joselito (Yolanda) González. Her home is brightened by the presence of ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, along with numerous friends and family.

Doña Amalia was a woman of few words, but her warmth and sense of humor illuminated the lives of those around her. Her dedication to the Hispanic ministry at St. Isidore Church in Quakertown reflected her generous spirit and desire to serve the community. From a young age, Amalia displayed an admirable work ethic, starting in the needlework industry and making sweets in Ponce. After dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker for 15 years, she returned to the workforce in tuna processing until the company closed in the 1990s. Her effort and dedication were always a source of pride for her and her family.

Before settling in Pennsylvania, Amalia enjoyed a season in Massachusetts, where she shared special moments of shopping and fun at casinos with her best friend from work. Her love for music, especially bachata, filled her heart and home with joy. Amalia will be remembered for her simplicity, her love for life, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her legacy will endure in the memories and hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Doña Amalia.

The community is invited to pay tribute to her life on Friday, January 31, at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church, located at 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951. The viewing will take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial mass at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association are suggested in her honor.
