Alyson Schwenk

Alyson Anne Schwenk, 34, of Coopersburg, died Mon., Apr. 13 in Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Summit, New Jersey, she was the youngest daughter of David and Mary Ann (DeMichael) Schwenk. Aly Anne graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in 1999. She was an active musician at Southern Lehigh who played the trombone in the jazz band (and won a solo award), served as Drum Major, and participated in choir and high school musicals. Alyson was a member of the Solehi Key Club and was also skilled at Speech and Debate, and she particularly enjoyed finding her voice and broadening her range during performances and recreations of speeches. She attended Cedar Crest College for her undergraduate studies, where her artistic talent was celebrated with a one woman art show. Aly graduated with honors in 2004 with her B.S. in Psychology. She then began graduate studies in child life development at Wheelock College in Boston. Her love of working with children inspired her to volunteer at Triple C Nursery School and at the Nursery School of St. James Lutheran Church in Coopersburg. As a child herself, Aly played soccer and softball on community teams. Though she accomplished much and inspired many, the best way to remember Aly is by her radiant Smile. Alyson was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship. Surviving are her parents; sister Heather E. Schwenk at home; brother Jason D. Schwenk, wife Andrea M., of North Wales; and 4 nieces and a nephew. Services to celebrate Aly Anne's legacy of Faith, Hope, Love, and Peace will be held 3 pm Sat., Apr. 25 in Calvary Bible Fellowship, 6782 N Main St, Coopersburg.
