Alvin W. Myers, 78, of Quakertown, died Wed., Mar. 28 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was the loving husband to Rubie (Reifinger) Myers for the past 58 years. Born in Lansdale, and one of nine children, he was a son of the late Walter and Eva (Wambold) Myers. His mother died when he was young, so he was raised by his step-mother, the late Edna (Young) Myers. during the conflict he did One W service. He worked as a carpenter for various contractors, then sold 'Lifetime" cookware, before becoming the head painter on the painting crew at Ursinus University. He brieflyturned to construction work before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Calvary Church of Souderton. and had served as a former director of the Quakertown Historical Society. Surviving with his wife, are sons, Alvin Dale and his wife, Judy of Knoxville, TN and Mel and wife Pam of Quakertown; grandchildren, Alvin Dale, Jr. "Skip", Stephanie, Julie, Matthew, Heather; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Christiana, Elijah, David, Jonathan; brothers, Paul, wife Marian of Quakertown, John, wife Darlene of Souderton, David 'Pete', wife Pam of Souderton, Walter ' Wally', wife Patti of Hatfield, Sam, wife Fran of Telford, sisters, Ruth Ann Davis, husband Rich, Allentown and Lois Blosser, husband Jim of Bridgewater, VA, nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Ester Alderfer. Funeral services will be held Wed., April 4, 11 am in Calvary Church of Souderton. Family and friends are invited to call at the church Wed. 9:30 - 11 AM. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Mortgage Fund, Calvary Church, 820 Rt 113, Souderton, Pa 18964
