Alton W. Fly, 92, of Quakertown, died Sun., June 10 in St. Luke's University Hospital-Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Blose) Fly. He was a railroad engineer, operating steam, diesel, & electric locomotives, beginning with the Reading RR and retiring after many years from Conrail. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Horace W. and Elsie (Hess) Fly. He was a 1938 graduate of Quakertown High School and served his country with the US Army, 6th Calvary Recon Squadron in WW II in France and Germany. He was life member of the American Legion Post 242, Quakertown and Forrest Lodge VFW, Sellersville. He loved gardening and being involved in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Surviving are son, Alton W., Jr, wife Cathie, daughter Cathy Burkhardt, husband Vernon, all of Quakertown, grandchildren Angela, Kelly, Timothy, Jason and great-grandchildren Maia, Sophia, Quinn, & Evania. A memorial service will be held 7 PM, Thurs., June 12 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W.
