Albert J. Johnson, 76, of Quakertown, died at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital on Tue., Dec. 26. He was the loving companion of Dorothy "Dot" Ridge for 47 years. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late George and Ruth (Thompson) Johnson from the Manayunk section of Philadelphia and was a 1960 graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He was a US Army veteran during the war in Vietnam and later worked as a laboratory technician for GlaxoSmithKline in Upper Merion for over 25 years. Albert was an avid hunter and fisherman which inspired him to relocate to Upper Bucks County more than 15 years ago and to become a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown. Surviving with Dot is his sister, Georgette Sweet of Quakertown; brother, Martin Johnson, wife Patricia of Phoenixville; sons, Michael S. Johnson and Timothy P. Johnson; and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Johnson, wife Diane of Richmond, Virginia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wed., Jan. 3 in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, with a viewing in the day chapel beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Isidore's Catholic Church at 603 W. Broad St., Quakertown, PA 18951.
